Seller fulfilled prime was very hard to maintain pre-Covid; now it’s downright impossible due to shipping delays (2 day delivery guarantee on all orders, outgoing scanned by carrier by 4pm, with like 97% on-time delivery).
The really big news was that Amazon just raised the bar on their IPI (Inventory Performance Index) requirement to 500+ for the remainder of Q3 & Q4 starting 8/16. This move excluded a massive number of small sellers from the FBA program. In turn, these sellers are now scrambling for warehouse space and are forced to ship everything themselves.
A huge number of Amazon 3P sellers will now be flooding the USPS, UPS and FedEx with their shipments. The move will help reduce the burden on Amazon and shift it to other carriers.
