How UPS ever got away with using PVDs is an outrage. 30 years ago a helper could meet a driver at peak and take work from him and deliver in his own vehicle, the union stopped that. But now they let these bitches do it? Must be about money.

In 1997 the only ones that crossed the picket line were delivery drivers. All of the PT honored the strike, even pre seniority.

Because I can't take the pay cut to be a driver, and I actually have people who love me who want to see me sometimes.

Are seasonal drivers scabs? The contract specifically states they can't accrue seniority. The only difference between pvd's and other seasonal drivers is what they drive. I'm not sure what happened to the arbitration decision about pvd's not being allowed due to the arbitrator saying they meet the definition of drivers, and drivers can't be forced to drive personal cars. Are they getting around it by saying they have a choice to drive personal cars or not have a job? That sounds like the sort of non-choice people are willing to pretend is actually a choice these days.

I had to vote "No". They'd be scabs IF the Union wasn't welcoming them with open arms.

I do not make enough as a part-timer. I make enough while being a part timer. Total hours much less than driving. Ups isn't the only way to make money
