I voted No. With the potential to be swayed back. The last 30 years of Foreign Policy have been crap. The last 30 years of immigration reform have been crap. Now politics will harden ethnic tribal voting blocs. The Left will adopt a Dem Socialist platform. The Right a populist platform.

As an American citizen:
I feel great about the freedoms and opportunities I have access to as a citizen of the USA.
It means I have at my avail the access to education and knowledge with few restrictions.
It means I have the ability to compete for food, housing, medicine at my desired level.
It means I can question elected politicians' decisions and hold them accountable via the ballot box.
I have the ability to live cooperatively with another 700 million Americans trading goods and services and living in comparative safety and without oppression.

"Diversity is our greatest strength." Yet 400 yrs of living on the same continent and Black Folks struggle with Anglo Society. This will never change. Even with Affirmative Action and Reverse racist laws that water down everything to the lowest common denominator.

ralph nader describes present day america as a highly developed third world country. relative to most other developed countries, maybe hes right. big money has turned the population into sheep. but they may be losing their hold. and i miss howard zinn. america needs a new civil rights movement for at the very least the environment that makes the connection with capitalism. this current system is so rotten. completely unsustainable. there wont even be an ``america`` in 100 years the way things are going.

Does Ralph Nader know what a third world country is?

Defininetly proud of some of the things we've accomplished as a nation in the past. Currently I see it as a pretty good place to live with a lot of untapped potential.
I agree with you, but I also believe comparing America to a utopia that’s never existed outside of Rickyb and his ilk’s head is an easy way to make America fall short. We are definitely the strongest, most prosperous, innovative and charitable nation to ever exist.

America has raised the global standard of living and brought about one of the most peaceful times in human history.

America has the oldest surviving constitution in the world. Think about it when people start telling you we need to repeal rights from that bill.

cons:
  1. our foreign policy has been mostly garbage since the end of WW2, arguably longer
  2. our infrastructure and organization of services are a total cluster
  3. our tax, immigration, and social welfare systems need a serious overhaul
pros:
  1. we have the longest-lasting high performing political system in history
  2. our defense strategy of overwhelming firepower is sound
  3. personal liberty is the highest in the world
  4. the bill of rights, especially the 1st and 2nd amendments, are a masterpiece never seen before
  5. the entrepreneurial spirit of Americans is arguably the strongest in the world, contributing heavily to our wealth
