Libertarians have diverged from origins as financially conservative/social liberals to almost anyone against the major parties. A lot of them are more anarchists than anything else.
Unfortunately Libertarians are the ones who took the name and used it for something else. Or maybe you are joking? The vast majority of "Libertarians" are hardly libertarian, just neoliberal corporatists

No. That is what Libertarian used to mean. Not all history has been rewritten in attempts to change that but plenty of people still alive were around when it began.

Do some research ... the Libertarian movement evolved from an anarchist ideology.

"Libertarian" also refers to an anarchist ideology that developed in the 19th century and
to a version which developed in the United States that is avowedly pro-capitalist.
This form is often named "liberalism" elsewhere such as in Europe, where liberalism has a different common meaning than in the USA.

The most conservative politicians in Europe would be considered raging socialists in the US.

Yeah ... you definitely need to do some reading on anarchy and Libertarian ideology.

Ignorance really is not bliss!
Why don't you make a point? Libertarianism (not the party) is a philosophy from Europe, probably French communes iirc. But it was left-wing, while the US is a perverted selfish capitalist individualist type. That isnt what oldandgrey said. libertarianism does not grow government like "Libertarians" and are anti-capitalist

Maybe the ones that are elected to leadership positions ... there are many "Conservative" politicians in Western Europe.

True but anyone even remotely to the right gets savaged by the media there. Although Europe does have a few truly far right radical groups but they are mostly just rabble rousers.

Pro-Capitalist does not equate to Right Wing.
anarchy or libertarianism is traditonally anti-capitalist, except here in the US. Left-wing. What are you arguing? Ha

unlike what oldngray said, libertarianism was always left-wing everywhere in the world and US conservatives took, twisted it around into a philosophy of mixed economy and capitalism. If you disagree I suggest you do the research

Do not need to personally, but maybe some could wiki such things. :D

In the mid-20th century, right-libertarian[15][18][22][23] ideologies such as anarcho-capitalism and minarchism co-opted[8][24] the term libertarian to advocate laissez-faire capitalism and strong private property rights such as in land, infrastructure and natural resources.[25] The latter is the dominant form of libertarianism in the United States,[23] where it advocates civil liberties,[26] natural law,[27] free-market capitalism[28][29] and a major reversal of the modern welfare state.[30]

Hey, I submitted that entry into wikipedia, and I had no clue what I was saying.

Hope this helps.
