Bob Vandergriff ran a very impressive 4.51 at 329.91 MPH to put him in the # 3 qualifiying spot for Monday's eliminations at the Mac Tools NHRA US Nationals at O'Reilly Raceway Park (just can't get used to that name!). Bob has a special 100 yr commemoration paint job on his Top Fuel dragster made completely out of aluminum from the first UPS airplane!

Vandergriff will face a very strong T.J. Zizzo, who ran a career best, 4.57, in the first round.

Interestingly, one of the 8 in the Countdown to the Championship, Whit Bazemore, did not qualify. That will hurt! John Force, in Funny Car, another surprising DNQ!

BUT, former UPSer, Max Naylor, qualified #1 in PRO STOCK! I usually ain't too cranked on PS but will be watching this one.

Congrats to Bob and Max and good luck this afternoon!

Well, he may have gone out in second round, but I was impressed by qualifying position and Bob DID move up to #5 in the Powerade points standings. Keep on keepin on.

Hey, Cach! Where do you go? I meet one of yer drivers at Tipton.
