The UPS sponsored NHRA Top Fuel dragster of Bob Vandergriff qualified at the #5 spot this weekend with a 4.57 ET and 316.75 MPH. He will face #12 qualifier, J.R. Todd, who was on fire last year and a spoiler to a lot of veterans, in the first round of eliminations.
Number 7 in the NHRA Powerade Chase to the Championship, Vandergriff is poised add to his points total and make a very good showing this year.
We're excited here because of hometown favorite, (OK, he's from Portland, OR but dad, owner, tuner, Allen's from our hometown and still lives here), is #1 qualifier, his first in his career.
