Car and Bike Talk

No chance. Worst part is I know better, & have the ability to do it myself. I tried to cheap out & got lazy.

Now, however, blow a call into the manufacturers customer service line and watch how fast they dance.

My wife took her car in for several things that should have been under warranty and they tried to feed her a bs story on why the repairs weren't covered. She called the customer service number while she was in the waiting room and magically by the time the dealership was done the repairs were covered and they threw in a free tire rotation for her inconvenience.

I'm glad that worked out for you. I would probably unleash my wife on them, cruel, but effective

I think long and hard before I send the wife in.

Way too Italian to risk innocent bystanders.

I'm the opposite. I'll gladly hold her purse and watch her tear through a negotiation in a manor that can only be described as Shakespearean.

The deal hasn't really started until the sales manager starts downing antacids and Tylenol.

Funny. If it's a fight, my wife takes over, and gets her way. I tend to lose my :censored2: too quickly, and that doesn't work.
I love to negotiate & haggle with them. Send in the sales mgr, general mgr. fine by me. I'll keep them busy for an hour or 2

We still tell the story of the time the sales guy and the mgr were on one side of the desk and my wife was starting to sweat them pretty hard and the mgr looks at me in frustration and asks if "she's the one that wears the pants in the family?" . She didn't miss a beat in saying " tell you what. Why don't you two go find the person here that does."

Car got a little cheaper yet.

I was so PO'ed at our local VW dealer the wife forbid me from "talking" to them. She said she was afraid I would end up in jail. In the end I was still the winner. We will never own another VW again and have personally talked 3 friends out of buying one.

Your story's better than mine.
Buying my wife's car last year, the price was $300 too much. I got up and started to walk out, expecting my wife to follow me. She didn't budge. She wanted the car, wasn't leaving without it. All I said to the sales manager was ok, have it ready in an hour.
I went back in December & was looking at trucks on the lot. Same salesman comes out. His first words, "we can have that ready in an hour too"

Up to 13 boxes of parts to install on my car come vacation.
You can tell that there's unmarried guys in the shipping dept otherwise they'd pack things in fewer boxes.
