Cartage Services Sub-contracting Lies

The UPS CSI Negotiating Committee met with the company last week.

Progress remains slow with two
tentative agreements reached on minor language issues.

UPS is not budging on Teamster
proposals around subcontracting issues.

The next
bargaining date is March 27.

The company alleges that they cannot be in business without sub-contracting. This is a load of BS! UPS makes billions!

If you don't know who Cartage Services is, you'll know August 1st....

This is a now familiar pattern. First week at table is a lot of posturing and stonewalling.
Let‘s see if there is more movement this week.

At our local negotiations we began to see progress in the second round. We didn’t get complete TA, still some issues outstanding but definite progress.

We are watching this one, subcontracting is huge issue for us here we are the rare place where UPSers don’t deliver statewide. But Sean has come out hard line that UPS volume should be moved by UPSers.

Now is the time to stop the company from these flagrant violations! We have all of the leverage!

Why should we allow the company to reduce drivers to part time, reduce freight handlers to on-call and slash our over time all while sub-contracting hundreds of thousands of pounds of our freight each and every week to trucking companies like DSD!? There is no end to their corruption!

The company will comply or we'll shut them down.
