Golfing and buffets? You're right- the membership will be working. In the case of UPS people- working under a crappy contract. Oh yeah- that's not the union's fault. Any Corona issues at your favorite buffet?

We’ve been told by district management that any driver that doesn’t want a helper won’t be forced to take one. How they handle that volume has yet to be addressed, more PVds seems to be the answer.

Don’t be a fool like most of my co workers in my center. “You’re not gonna get any help” or “not taking a helper is the same a refusing help”. No sweat off my back. ‘em!

Helpers should not be utilized until there is a vaccine. The vaccine may be only 50 to 75% effective. That's OK. If someone can reduce the risk of killing their loved ones who are in high risk groups by those percentages; it is well worth it. NO HELPERS UNTIL NOV. 2021.

If UPS allows helpers; then any COVID related issues traced to those helpers should result in liability to UPS.

Hire more drivers. Rent or Buy more package cars. The ecommerce boom is here to stay. COVID has only accelerated it.

You could quit? Or you and your helper will both be required to wear masks. Simple solution. We know the union will support mask wearing, because UPS will.

As of right now we have a LOA that says there can be no helpers on the cars. I'm sure once peak comes UPS is going to back out of that agreement because they are only agreeing to it now because it allows them to use PVDs. Come peak they won't need the agreement for that.

The LOA is primarily about the use of PVDs. Some other things in it are about CDC guidelines (like no one on the car even managment), working vacations and the rate you'll be paid for it.

Union isn't allowed to do PVD in my local. My BA told me.

Even in areas where pvds have been allowed we are seeing the silent, still semi-operational wheel of our union membership stigmatizing the position such that they had to abandon it in our center. At it's height we only had 2 PVDs at a time.
