Why does anyone care who the whistleblower is and what his political leanings are? Hell, more than half the country can’t stand Trump. Doesn’t make them part of a “coup”.

You framed your question incorrectly. Trump was interested in Crowdstrike and their interference in the election. That is exactly the target. Unfortunately for the Biden's their corruption was unearthed, exactly what is the common thread, exactly what unites them?
This is not a new story, no new revelation, much has been reported long ago. For clowns that only follow main street fake news it is a new revelation.
