If they don't do a little something let me stuck with a lot of us old bastards paying us a lot more than a new employee.

Do you realize how much it costs the company to have a senior driver versus a new employee?
Agreed, just think with the various pension plans out there, and each having to be negotiated specifically regarding a golden handshake deal it seems impossible.

Folks, UPS has been "shutting down" DFW for years. The airport does not want UPS there. The airport doesn't want pkg operations out of there. THIS HAS BEEN ONGOING FOR YEARS.

Anyone in and out of there the last few years will know.

Again they built a great big hub just down the road from DFW to replace(if you will) the operations.

Those involved in the District will not find this surprising AT ALL.

a Licensed Plumber
Back in the dark ages, I did do plumbing. No real license was demanded, just a functioning brain. I charged $30-50 an hour 35 years ago!

BUT, there is a catch no one seems aware of... Everyone just assumes that plumbing means water pipes, but that is not even close to what the job entails in reality. The reality is some elderly couple that have a leaking sewer pipe under their bathroom, and a huge swamp of sewage you'll be wading in and breathing while the sweat and tears roll off your face. You, your equipment and your tools will literally be covered in human waste daily. It will even find it's way into your lunch, eventually.

Knew a guy who was a plumber who had to crawl under a house trailer one time to hook up a sewer connection that had apparently never been completed when the trailer was set on the lot. It had been there for 2 or 3 months before the people started to complain about what they thought was “sewer gas”.

They built a new hub down the road because DFW metro population has doubled.

10 million people live within the service area of the DFW air gateway.

The only gateway location alternative is Alliance Ft worth airport. And UPS has repeatedly determined that is not a viable location.

The millions spent on construction and staffing to reopen the dfw night sort was a typical UPS overreaction to percieved volume processing issues at worldport about 7 years ago. Those issues were corrected and now they're trimming the fat at satellite/secondary sorting facilities like the dfw night sort.

DFW twilight and sunrise are two of the most profitable sorts in the whole system and the gateway ops at DFW aren't going anywhere anytime soon

Right. Air.

Have you seen what DFW Airport did to feeders?

DFW Airport wants airplanes not pkg cars.
