Diad keeps dying in cold

DIADs were made in Israel for a while.

You are correct.

I said that II Morrow manufactured the first DIADS. They only designed them and did the prototype.

The Manufacturing was farmed out to a third party manufacturer under license of II Morrow.

Interesting fact. For the DIAD I, this manufacturer quoted $2400 per unit for the first UPS DIADS.

UPS gave the heads of this third party manufacturer a personal tour of the II Morrow facility.

Once they saw that UPS could manufacture the DIADS themselves, they reduced the price to $1800 per unit.

Deal done.

This happened a lot to us in 2013 when we had a week stretch of below 0 weather. Crappy winter for sure. Take the battery out and place the DIAD over one heating vent and the battery over another. Sit in your truck for 5-10 minutes. Put battery back in and let the DIAD restart. We had a couple nights so cold (temps under 15 below) that I had to do this trick twice. Worked every time.
