I was at a interview last night at ups and the hr said ups doesnt require couriers to obtain a cdl anymore. Is this true?
It doesnt matter to me i already have one but was interested to know if that is true.

I drove for over 26 years in package delivery and never had to have a CDL. Our feeder dept does need them however so be glad you have one in case you ever want to move in that direction.

I have a Class B CDL that I got because I was driving a van (24 ft box, tilt cab with air brakes) about fifteen years ago. Today a couple of our Package Drivers have them because it has something to do with the size of truck. These are Internationals, I used to drive an antique Ford on a warehouse route. The regular Package Cars don't need a CDL, although if you have one, keep renewing it like I do. Just don't tell your supervisor!
