George H.W. Bush, 41st president Dead at 94

George H.W. Bush, the 41st president of the United States and the father of the 43rd, was a steadfast force on the international stage for decades, from his stint as an envoy to Beijing to his eight years as vice president and his one term as commander in chief from 1989 to 1993.

The last veteran of World War II to serve as president, he was a consummate public servant and a statesman who helped guide the nation and the world out of a four-decade Cold War that had carried the threat of nuclear annihilation.

His death, at 94 on Nov. 30 also marked the passing of an era.

In case you forgot, Pres. Jimmie Carter is still alive. His wife Rosalyn is also. I didn't feel that George HW would last long after his wife passed. He has had a lot of health issues. At least he was able to attend his granddaughter Barbara's wedding.

Correction. Jimmy Carter did not serve in WWII . He graduated from the US Naval Academy just after the end of WWII. I do however believe that he'll be the only president who's degree and field of study was not law or politics but rather nuclear engineering.
It was a good thing that it is was his field and he was Rickover's top man because when he went to Three Mile Island following the meltdown he knew EXACTLY what happened. As a result the white hats at MedEd knew better than to try to BS their way around him.

According to the many stories today, Bush (either one) could not tolerate slow golfers. Hubby hates that too!!

Me too but I never cared about rules.
Hit a ball, can't find it in 20 secs, drop a ball and take a penalty shot.
The club reserved the first two slots for a group of 8 that played together.
