Greviance procedure, confidential?

Is the greviance procedure supposed to be confidential? I filed a seniority grievance two months ago. I have had no updates from our business agent, was not invited to local review when greviance was first discussed. Greviance has been leaked to the employees and there is now a petition going around generated by lower seniority drivers to have my greviance withdrawn even before it’s officially heard. Lol. Am I correct in thinking that 1. My greviance should have remained confidential until settlement and 2. The petition to withdraw is laughable. Thank you for the insight.

Lower seniority drivers can petition anything they want. But the BA and UPS has to follow the CBA then past practices if not spelled out explicitly in the CBA.

If they don't you file a form with the NLRB. It would be a charge against the Labor Organization or its Agents.
