The charges against Patton failed in court. Simple as that. Now does this mean that FDX will be compelled to cede bargaining power to a contractor? Will it recognize an organized contractor bargaining group? Will it negotiate with the law firm representing that group and agree to a base rate for all contractors? Tell us what you think about that?

Then again, maybe it will be.
All it means is that the charges against Patton failed. Nothing more. Will it recognize an organized contractor group and the law firm representing them? Will it be willing to negotiate a master contract agreement with that bargaining group? Nada. It does not materially change the way FDX does business with contractors.

Will it strengthen the RICO case? There's a chance but I wouldn't count on it?? It might fire up another nationwide class action law suit but the last one took 12 years to settle and outside of some cash changing hands it too changed nothing.
