Careful, you're gonna twist an ankle there sport. The "gem" as you call it says nothing, absolutely nothing about gun owners being nuts. We all know that some are, but far away from all. The "gem" is saying that even if we removed all guns, ALL GUNS GONE the "nuts" would still kill that family member or next door neighbor or a stranger. Of course you already know that but just don't want to admit it.

I agree that there are too many murders in America WAY TOO many, one murder is too many. Guns are not the problem, murderers are the problem, guns are just ONE of the tools they use. Murderers will use whatever tool they can find and when they can't find a tool they will use their bare hands.

Gun owners don't talk in circles as you suggest, we reply to misleading stats with accurate stats, we reply to outrageous claims with common sense answers. If I needed a gun to "FEEL SAFE" I would have one strapped to my side 24/7, the fact is I feel safe even with my guns under lock and key.

Some of today's mobile home parks are better built and nicer looking than a stick & stone building.
Also many newer houses are manufactured homes, that come on trailers and are assembled in hours.

Believe what you will, but what is your plan incase you get awoken at night to the sound of breaking glass or your back door getting kicked in or you come home from work and find someone in your home that isn't supposed to be there ransacking through your stuff? I imagine you will first phone the police, but they are minutes, at best, away while your intruders are only a few seconds away. Maybe you will get lucky and they are only there for your stuff, but what if they decide they don't want any witnesses? You can probably attempt to bedazzle them with the web of lies you so love to spin, but my guess is they won't be interested. Just hope your life isn't on their list of things to take should you be found, and that the police get there in a timely manner and they don't decide entering your home would jeopardize their safety and wait outside for the intruders to leave before attempting to apprehend them. I know that you will probably tell me you live in the world's safest community, but thieves know where there are expensive houses there are expensive things to steal drawing them right to your neighborhood like moths to a flame and even the safest communities can be breached by those daring enough to try.

Either way its better to have it and not need it then to need it and not have it. Whether you want to admit it or not you benefit from gun owners because the bad guys don't know if you are a gun owner or not. Perhaps they skip your home or neighborhood because they don't want to get shot? It isn't about living scared, its about living prepared. You have all your things covered by insurance so that is one way to prepare for the loss of property, but the situations I described has your life put in jeopardy all through no fault of your own yet you admit you have no plan to deal with that situation. We both know all the insurance in the world won't bring you back to life so how do you plan to deal with a situation where your life could be taken by an intruder?

Five days ago in Redding California a 68 year old woman shot a 37 year old dirt bag breaking into her bedroom window. She fired two warning shots while on the phone with the police begging for help. The intruder left the bedroom window and climbed into her house through a front window. While the 911 operator was on the phone --the woman fired two more shots killing the intruder !!

Police arrived long after the incident was over --this time the right person lived !! If she did not have a gun what would have happened ?? Does Tos believe after he robbed her -he would have politely left ??
