Canada had the commanding role in Afghanistan (Kabul), until just a few years ago.
The US was too busy in Iraq !

That's fake. I read about it on Snopes. Turns out the Afghani was so tired of emails from the sniper talking about how great Canada is that he took out his gun and blew his own brains out.
