Thanksgiving is a juggling act with multi-tasking highlights. We have to put a dash between multi and tasking or 'indecision' will have a smart ass comment.
A double oven is a real plus on the holiday. The turkey takes up lots of room and there are pies and casseroles and other treats to bake.
Things are happening outside the oven too. Chopping, boiling, sautéing, creaming and other, are all keeping hands busy.
Everyone thinks it's that chemical in turkey that makes us sleepy.....the cook knows it's the juggling and cooking that wears us out. The sense of pride as we watch the satisfied faces of our loved ones partake in the meal is the biggest reward we can get.
