Harvard being mean to “Parkland Survivor”

It will be fine

This is a fine example of the post truth world we live in. Conservatives are crying because a kid used the N-word as a punchline and people are all, “hey, that’s racist.” It’s so absurd, how do you lunatics pretend the N-word isn’t racist?

It's the hurting of this kid's future for saying something stupid when he was 16 and now being held to account by politically correct fanatics. One of the most famous political moments in history was when Joe McCarthy was dressed down by a Democrat for suggesting a young man might be connected to communists. "Sir, have you no shame?" Seems Democrats have forgotten that.

So the things an 18 year old college applicant did two years ago shouldn't count in the admission process?

Bro, use your brain.
They admit kids all the time at the expense of others with much better scores for the sake of diversity. Please don't tell me the ones admitted under such circumstances are always pure as the driven snow. Put the kid on probation, but recognize 16 year olds often do stupid things. Otherwise you're admitting teens are much more mature and responsible than you've admitted in the past when you said no way should a 14 year old ever marry an 18 or 19 year old.

Tell us what you were doing when you were 16.

Do tell, what do you think the college admission process should use, since you think the things they did in high school shouldn't matter.....

So you're back to supporting child molesters.... You're messed up man.

This thread is ridiculous.

I cannot believe that there are people actually defending this kid. He's not 8 years old - he's a young adult, and he clearly knows better.

He was a potential Harvard student, for :censored2:'s sake, which clearly suggests he's basically brilliant.

Don't pretend he didn't have an understanding that being racist on social media is unacceptable. He was showing his true colors, and he found out the hard way that Harvard doesn't play when it comes to diversity and racism, nor should they have to, when they're as choosy as they are.

This isn't State U, who takes every kid with a 900 sat...Harvard has a policy of taking only the best, and this kid DQ'd himself from that discussion when he :censored2:ed up publicly, regardless of whether he has a good high school transcript and test scores. There's probably 5000 other applicants who have as good, or close to as good a resume as he does, so why take this kid after what happened?

Wrong.

You’re talking about homosexuality like it’s Ebola.

Do you make a conscious decision every day to be straight?
They made a conscious decision to give in to temptation. They liked the sensation so it was easier to give in the next time. Soon they were rationalizing their behavior, saying it is natural for them. No study has ever produced biological proof that homosexuality is in the DNA. And they all have the physical components to reproduce.
