Should this have been considered a hate crime? Beforing answering consider this....if those had been Christian Bibles instead would anyone outside of the college even know it happened? I'm thinking the ACLU would have came to the defense of a Muslim in that situation.

I almost included that but then I figured why should I when most of the smart asses that would even choose that option probably wouldn't even bother vote at all. That's why I chose "What's a Quran?" instead.

If he bought the books in question himself and didn't steal them from someone else, then there was no crime at all in my opinion. While I can understand the sentiment behind wanting to have special laws dealing with attacks on minorities, I'm still ambivalent about it. Applying those laws to inanimate objects just seems ridiculous.
