How much land do you own?

Unfortunately, my county in Georgia does not see it that way.
The cleared land for my house and the yard is maybe 1/4 acre ... all the rest is forest.
I've protested and filed objections twice and the additional acres are taxed the same as the first.
Been here 18 years and it still POs me when I think about it.
Could you get the lot partitioned?

No.
It's in the drainage basin for county water reservoir ... it's complicated.
5 acre minimum in basin.
I have ~8 acres so it can't be divided.

I had 28 acres with no deed restrictions but nearby a lot of the land was sold with a lot of restrictions so rich people could have their fancy vacation homes. No parcels smaller than 10 acres, no trailers, no businesses, and things like that.

I own everything from the studs in. The rest is considered to be a common area.

My combined school and property taxes are just under $2,500 with my 10% veteran exemption.

I have an acre, with summer homes mostly. Rarely anyone here. I pay 1050. a year. Lakeview, state park. Far enough away so its not real peoply, but I would like to get out and have less neighbors, even if they are here infrequent. I am looking into a 10 acre plot so I can have horses again.
