heres a good christmas movie where the bad guy is the greedy capitalist monopolist. the good for nothing FBI didnt like that too much and it got caught up in the red scare. most americans forget that the previous decade america almost had a left wing revolution because of the great depression. communists and socialists were in part responsible for EI, social security, and 10 million federal jobs created during the great depression. nowadays the excuse is to cut these programs not create them during a slow down.

anyways this movie is an exceptional creative masterpiece because it starts off with talking stars and space matter:

dont kid yourself of course you do. thats why you have a union.
No, I don’t get told what to do... I Trained my center manager 25 years ago. He often asks me how I would handle some situations. We frequently compare the UPS of today to the UPS of 1991.

when youre a young man with a good paying job youre not gonna care about retirement unless you play make believe warren buffet such as yourself.

and ive done a post on here which deals with millennials attitude toward retirement which i think was they think they wont retire or there will be a new system besides capitalism or we are all extinct by then anyways.
So you are saying, since you are young, you are not mature enough to start making grown up decisions? Good luck with that. No wonder your like is so terrible.

Geez. Are you incapable of watching a movie without picking it apart and bringing up capitalism? I really feel sorry for you that you can’t just enjoy a movie.

i heard about this before, but i dont get the grocery part. chris hedges went to pine ridge north dakota and mentioned that they dont have fresh food, and that basically when the native genocide happened, they created a system of dependence because they couldnt feed themselves anymore.

The population on Pine Ridge has among the shortest life expectancies of any group in the Western Hemisphere: approximately 47 years for males and 52 years for females.

Here’s a remarkable fact: Dollar stores are now feeding more Americans than Whole Foods is – even though most dollar stores have no fresh food, only a limited selection of packaged items. 1/

im rewatching it and capitalism, greed and social mobility is a central issue of the movie.

if anything it makes the movie better.

my fav movie is the matrix. the other ones are empire strikes back, terminator 2, and few others because of their message.

Yes they are an issue in the movie, but, you missed the main point of the importance of friends and family.

yea but we always hear about friends and family. the rich want for us to be alone, and theyve largely exceeded if you've ever heard of the book "bowling alone" but its hard to drive out the instinct of the importance of friends and family from people.

whats rare is when an american movie criticizes markets, capitalism, etc. i really liked the big short too. i like how brad pitts character sounds like a conspiracy theorist but hes essentially right. says something about how we as a society deal with marginalized ideas.

one of my coworkers is from india. he told me that theres alot of applications for any job. long hours too. so with those you immediately have capitalist and market inefficiency which is a few people working more than they want, and many people not working at all.

he also said that govt controls the economics, india doesnt have banking capture of govt like america and probably canada too.

he also said india doesnt really have the system of dependence which we have here. more people can sustain themselves there whereas here people depend on a complex system to meet their needs.

____________

the french man down the block also said the biggest difference he noticed between france and canada is french dont have credit cards like us canadians do.
