michael hudson says because we dont have a debt write off of student debt, mortgage debt, etc, that we are spending more and more disposable income on debt. our economy has been taken over by a creditor class. our future is the greeks; neofeudalism.

Its really simple....if it costs too much....don’t buy it.

so last night i theorized that theres a correlation between any economic system which centralizes power (slavery, capitalism, state socialism) and which concentrates wealth

they also talk about the german economic miracle when they wiped the debts post wwII.

obama promised to wipe the mortgage debts for homeowners but didnt do it.
I cannot see a scenario where I would need to have my debts wiped out. Thanks to the Fed, I am highly leveraged.

capitalist inefficiency:

i use maybe 20% of the space in my car, and drive it for 1/24th of the day. the rest of the time its sitting, rotting away.

capitalists want us to buy as much of their product as possible because then we pay them more.

an efficient system would have us not consuming so much to begin with, and efficient asset utilization. i think basically everything i own is only used less than 5% of the time.

Would another economic system make better use of space in your car? Most likely yes because you'd have only one car in your family so everyone would be hauled around in that space. P.S. No one forced you to buy the car. If you cared about the climate you'd get rid of that car and walk.

its not practical. the transit system is too mediocre, probably in part due to capitalist conspiracies. in america the car companies conspired with the govt to rip up the national trolley system.

however if they got rid of transit fees id consider it, which they should.

a more efficient example of car usage would be car rentals or uber or public transit, although im opposed to both models as is.

tony montana says first you get the power, then you get the money.

but with capitalism the capitalists have the power, and then the money.

We haven't always had cars. Get a horse. You care about saving the climate, right?

Durable goods have a life span. The least you use and abuse them, the longer they will last.

Maybe you just need a bicycle or a motorcycle. If you need a car, get a smart car. But you might have trouble getting you head inside. :wink2:
