The obvious - but apparently not obvious enough…

Capitalism doesn't know how to divide the pie.

Socialism doesn't know how to increase the pie.

"The inherent vice of capitalism is the unequal sharing of blessings.

The inherent virtue of socialism is the equal sharing of miseries."

disagree. give workers ownership and control of the businesses they work in. it spreads power.

A co op is capitalistic. It is essentially a partnership. Why do you believe a co op is against capitalism?
guys say its not because it give workers more power. ive questioned that too.

1989, richest 1% owned 23.6% of US wealth. Rose to 30.9% in 2018. Top 1% own a majority of all shares of stock. Since 1989, bottom 50% of Americans wealth dropped from 3.8 to 1.2%. Inequality worsened from Clinton to Trump. Capitalism's burden.

Bloomberg - Are you a robot?

"Newly available net worth data from the Federal Reserve suggests that the “left-behind” contagion has spread to all Americans aside from the top 10 percent. While still wealthier overall than most other groups, even the upper-middle class is feeling the pinch of income stagnation. The growth rate of this group’s incomes is lagging behind that of those both lower and higher on the socioeconomic ladder."

If I was forced to work at a lower wage co op, It would have to be a capitalist one. The extra effort it takes to get through all the bickering needs to pay off.

This little snack from my local CoOP has been on quite a trip. Made from British peas, processed in China and shipped back for consumption in the UK, it has travelled nearly 24,000 nautical miles. Not quite what customers meant when they asked for locally sourced food!
