Weak deflection argument. Got any evidence that the drug war reduces use or availability?
No, but here is an example of what happens when you quit the war:

From U.S.A. Today:
On a sticky morning in May, the Rev. Rodney Hudson slips on a black “Sermonator” T-shirt and walks down the street from his west Baltimore church, a gray stone edifice two blocks from where police arrested Gray. A few days earlier, a drug crew from another neighborhood set up camp on the corner across the street. Hudson says the dealers nearly got into a gunfight with the crew that usually works across from the elementary school down the block.

Since Gray’s death, at least 41 people have been shot within a short walk of Hudson’s church.

“Drug dealers are taking control of the corners and the police’s hands are tied,” Hudson says. “We have a community that is afraid.”

Cool story. Prohibition doesn't work. Thanks for helping us prove that point.

I know, there are so many gun fights between liquor store owners. They’re always shooting up each other’s stores for turf, it’s pandemonium.

Read the story, Slinky, and you'll find that the reason it quit working is because Baltimore police stopped proactive enforcement, making Baltimore the new 'deadliest city in America'.
Sorry you theory doesn't fit the reality.

Reality is there is and always will be a market for drugs. The question is who do you want selling those drugs, criminals or legitimate businesses? We’ve tried criminals and that hasn’t really worked out. Let’s try legitimate business and remove the revenue from criminal gangs and terrorists.

So you're saying there was no problem before? LMFAO you are dense.

You're pointing to the results of failed prohibition and blaming the drug.

You don't believe in the science that says young adult brains are developing until their mid 20's? That marijuana use by people younger than that can cause permanent damage?
So can sugar.
You want to prohibit 25 year olds from drinking coca cola?

Get real man. Lots of stuff is bad for you, the nanny state you're advocating is just ridiculous.

Look it up. Marijuana has been proven to damage developing brains. If an adult takes it up after they reach 25-27 it apparently is ok. You guys that want to claim there's no real downside to pot do yourselves a real disservice. Most likely marijuana will be legalized nationally, and if that results in droves of damaged brains you'll see it criminalized again, or at least greatly restricted. There should be education warning people to wait on taking up the habit, but of course sensible solutions get you all worked up.
