More union jobsHere's a thought...why don't UPS keep the surepost and hire SSD/PVDs to deliver that volume year round. Will be much cheaper than hiring full time drivers and benefits. Making the company prosper more and build the pensions.

I like the idea of buying more trucks and hire more drivers. Here's a thought...why don't UPS keep the surepost and hire SSD/PVDs to deliver that volume year round. Will be much cheaper than hiring full time drivers and benefits. Making the company prosper more and build the pensions.
It’s ed!Between the bad weather and the surepost fallout, our building is drowning in packages. The in-town routes are just barely keeping their heads above water but the country routes are completely and totally ed. A driver I know had 230 stops and 200 miles yesterday with an RTB of 1:15am this morning.
Same here.It’s ed!
I expect that to be my route next week. Very little volume coming out of DFW right now.Between the bad weather and the surepost fallout, our building is drowning in packages. Groundpost? The new option is UPS Saver.
Have you ordered anything off of E-bay lately? That is how those idiots make their money--shipping and handling costs.Nobody is going to pay $20 to ship $3 worth of Chinese garbage.
Groundpost?
Should consider yourself lucky if it were all just envelopes. You think the ups drivers like 80 surepost envelopes to deliver, driving up stop counts, the big union wigs think ups is going to put more trucks on the road instead of just jacking up stop counts
It's a two way streetCompany asked for an extension for the seasonal period. The IBT declined.
UPS needs to hire permanent. Not extended seasonal period
9.5 season starts soon. Could be lucrative for many.
It’s never a two-way street with the company. Poor planning on the companies part does not mean we should give them immunity from the contract They agreed to.It's a two way street
We give you something you give us something back

That falls into the not my problem categoryIt’s never a two-way street with the company. Poor planning on the companies part does not mean we should give them immunity from the contract They agreed to.
Just like when they was trying to sneak in the 150 pound weight limit. It’s never a two-way street with the company. Poor planning on the companies part does not mean we should give them immunity from the contract They agreed to.
They will hire just enough drivers to make sure they can give drivers dives and distribute volume in a way that very few will get paid. Same they do now.Company asked for an extension for the seasonal period. The IBT declined.
