Has everyone forgot that when Obama was in there that there was no money left. It is done. Then Trump came in and there was an over abundance, and he told everyone that it was a financial paper scam. Now we have the next guy and it is back to there is no money in there.

Yet they are sending billions of dollars to other countries, which in return Is turned back around and put in their pockets. How long is everyone just going to sit there and turn a blind eye?

What solution then? Most obvious is pushing the entry age up.

It was always intended to be just a supplement but too many people waited then tried to rely on it as the sole source of income. Also it pays for disabilities and not just retirements.

My philosophy, the first day you can get money in your mailbox and not work, take it. Did the same with the pension. I was 52.

The day after I got my first check from SS,62 and 3 months, I filed for disability. SS turned it down. Got a lawyer.
He looked at my medical records. Had the hearing sitting in my car on an iPhone because Covid had the world shut down.
15 minutes after I swore in, it was over.
Two months later, I got a check close to 6K of backpay after the lawyer was paid and an increased check every month for life like I retired at full age.
If you do 30 years in a brown truck, you deserve everything you can get. I'm no scammer. We've all seen those folks.

Yep, expire early and collect nothing. That fact shouldn't change raising the early retirement age. The plan is going broke and additional taxes will not solve that problem.
