Didn't they essentially force out all the older, experienced guys?
don't they just keep chipping away at your guys's benefits/ overall compensation?
40 mil? Pull the plug on Orion already. You're welcome
they forced out a lot of trash but also a lot of knowledge; the problem is they did NOTHING to retain or retrain that knowledge

the benefits aren’t bad yet, i couldn’t care less about the pension because a 401k is better but when they do away with MIP i’ll enjoy it but i’ll also know it’s the end of anything special about being in management vs bother company

AND THAT’S THE BOTTOM LINE
How the friend can anybody even afford to buy pkgs and pay for shipping when rent for a 2 bedroom apartment is 2000$ a month, and wages are stagnant? "The economy is booming," just a bunch of bs. We will continue cutting taxes on the rich for the next 6 years, and the bubble will burst, AGAIN. Only a matter of time. Then a Democrat will get in there and the pendulum will swing to the extreme opposite, round and round and round we go. Can I get a transfer to Amsterdam?

there was an actual, organized strategy to Peak this year, propagated to all managers

most of the important elements got flushed down the toilet today and last week

Please elaborate? As a driver I'm told nothing. Everything I know about this company comes from this website.

My experience was week 1 of peak I had ODO and ran out of hours. Week 2 ODO was shut off for almost every route and I barely got 50 hours. With RDO I've been killing the route everyday.

They don't tell us plans. They don't tell us numbers. PCM is the same stupid BS everyday. AHHH DUUHHH SAFETY TIP OF THE DAY IS.. BLAH. LETS STRETCH. OK GUYS TELL YOUR HELPERS NOT TO GET A PAPERCUT. THAT'S IT! GO TO WORK!

So you want to live in a Socialist Utopia and pay greater than 50% income tax?

The Democrats want to enslave the American people via Entitlement Programs.
They want total control over your life with the Government providing everything for you.
No incentive for hard work.

I am truly amazed how when I started 25 years ago we had very little technology beyond human eyes and hands to move a package from point a to b. We were very competitively priced with the USPS.

UPS made money without all the service charges we have on a package now. There are like 4 oversized charges, fuel surcharges, rural, super rural, residential delivery surcharges, and who knows what other ones are out there.

Face it ever since Jim Casey passed on and we went public the idiots in charge have all but destroyed what he built. I remember the phrase “Every package, every day” now it’s “EC” it if you can’t finish.

They once, not long ago, put a weather delay on our feeder plane that arrived 45 minutes late and didn’t shuttle it to us because it was Friday and the managers didn’t want to hassle with it

Just sayin,

You're probably right. I just remember how quick Railway Express (nation wide # 1 carrier) folded when UPS ramped up their expansion plans in the 70's.
Was Railway express still operating in your area when you started delivering Rod? I just a kid , but were there trucks a dark green?

In the Feeder dept., Every driver will tell you they have never seen more gypsies running our work then ever before.
Waiting for a train the other day, I sat next to 5 other UPS drivers and was staring at a line of 12 gypsies.

Guarantee, UPS will be implementing those 22.4s as fast as they can to cut costs next year.

FoxNews watcher?
I may have more of a problem with Republicans like you who have lost any humanatarian qualities, but I'm no Democrat, no Socialist. I want BALANCE, sensible balance, deep consideration for every issue other than "I'm conservative so I believe x."
This isn't good vs evil, it's stupid vs. stupid, and everybody loses. We are pitted against each other, and they have you hook, line and sinker.

Waaaaaa waaaaaaaa waaaaaaaaa. Go to Venezuela.

There will never be a true “crash” for many reasons. There will not be another housing crash for a while. Housing prices are finally back at their ath, meanwhile pay has went up substantially during this period. The same “2 bedroom 2000 dollar” rent cities you speak of a bunch of idiots crying who can’t save a 3.5% to put down on an affordable house. They can have a mortgage of 1200-1400 bucks. Instead they spend money on bull:censored2: like 1000 dollar iPhones, have bad credit, and are forced to rent apartments.

I find it odd that foreigners can come here legally, and within one generation build an empire, yet American born millennials just sit and cry about inequality.

FYI, Amsterdam is not cheap. Look at their minimum wage and look at their rent.

people in the MMO community have a term for the mostly unstoppable downward spiral an organization can have when it loses all confidence in itself: failcascading

generally the symptoms are:
  1. quality managers jumping ship or taking early retirement
  2. difficulty in retaining veteran employees
  3. difficulty in attracting or retaining talent
  4. generally poor/short-sighted decision making

earlier this year i saw a lot of moves the company was making and thought it was on the right track; now i see how quickly the Board will abandon an entire strategy for a measly $40 million, it makes me wonder if this company is totally friend’ed
You lost me at quality managers. Lol.

You sound like a "I'm a UPS driver and I make enough money so what's everybody else's problem?" kinda guy.

Where's your numbers suggesting that pay has gone up substantially? You think because a few major cities have initiated 15$ hour min wage that wages are fixed?
