Where's your numbers suggesting that pay has gone up substantially? You think because a few major cities have initiated 15$ hour min wage that wages are fixed?
Nursing starting pay
Tech market starting pay
Constructing starting pay
Trades starting pay
Wages are not the same they were in 2006.

Wages are up over 3% this year all across the board.

I as well of many of my friends have literally came from :censored2:, we “‘made it”. Some through education, some through trades, me through driving a truck. Hard work does pay off.

I guarantee your under 30 and Have no real understanding of the true possibilities STILL OUT THERE in this country if your willing to work hard.

Waaaaaa waaaaaaaa waaaaaaaaa. Go to Venezuela.

There will never be a true “crash” for many reasons. There will not be another housing crash for a while. Housing prices are finally back at their ath, meanwhile pay has went up substantially during this period. The same “2 bedroom 2000 dollar” rent cities you speak of a bunch of idiots crying who can’t save a 3.5% to put down on an affordable house. They can have a mortgage of 1200-1400 bucks. Instead they spend money on bull:censored2: like 1000 dollar iPhones, have bad credit, and are forced to rent apartments.

I find it odd that foreigners can come here legally, and within one generation build an empire, yet American born millennials just sit and cry about inequality.

FYI, Amsterdam is not cheap. Look at their minimum wage and look at their rent.
Foreigners get huge tax breaks to start their own business.
Look, I'm not disagreeing with you that many people are stupid with their money, and that's a big part of the problem. Consume consume consume

I'm 30. Out of high school, I went into grocery. Worked my way to journeyman. Lost my job in the recession.
Then went into granite countertops....worked my way to cnc operator. Shady company folded.
Then I did construction, mostly roofing, humping bundles up ladders for three years. Went from 12$ to 18$, hard winters with no work.
Then I took the job on the preload, 2 years later I'm about to hit my 1 year driving.
If you stay in your UPS bubble, you won't know jack about the real world. It's rough out there. I'm just lucky that I haven't had any mouths to feed.
I agree, pull up your pants and suck it up and keep moving until you find something....but you think it's really simple, and it's not.

Construction starting pay? I made 12 dollars an hour to hump roofing bundles up ladders for 3 years before I got her

Ups bubble? I would bet I have traveled the world more than you. I have been to European “utopias”, I have been to “third world :censored2:holes”. The things I like (nice house, nice cars) would be impossible to obtain in any other country.

If you wanna talk about rough, imagine cover driving for years making 70k and being kicked back to part time making not even 20k a year during the recession. I did what I had to do to pay the bills.

Going into Management now is risky. No pension. A huge chunk of coin is needed from your own pocket to replace that.

I'm not here to compare how hard my life has been to yours. That's stupid. Really stupid. What I'm saying is, you think that all we need to do is work hard in order to be succesful, and I don't believe that to be the case.
You have to be resourceful, need preserverance, and to think outside the box.
You simply can't expect 325 million people to all posess those qualities, especially when we are spoon fed garbage and bred to be stupid consumers from the time that we're born.

So everybody should be treated equal? Paid equal too? This is a dog eat dog world. The strong make it, the weak don’t. That how it’s been since we been living in caves.

I already told you, I am not a socialist. I'm critical of giving tax breaks to the uber rich, rewarding those who don't need it, when we have people working two jobs with 3 kids who can't keep the lights on. I'm not a cave man, I do actually care about my people and want to improve this country and give people more of an opportunity to pull themselves out of these holes.
That's all. Nothing more, nothing less. Consideration and sensibility.

The question is, how do you propose to improve the country and give people more opportunity?

Was Railway express still operating in your area when you started delivering Rod? I just a kid , but were there trucks a dark green?

Yes and yes they were. Just about every town the railroad passed through had a Railway Express Agency. They would get the stuff off the train and deliver it from there. I had a good friend who worked for them. His father-in-law ran our local one. I remember him telling me they were too big to fail and UPS would never be as big as them.

Good question that I don't have the answers to. I can observe obvious mistakes, and be critical of them, but I don't have all the answers. That's why I'm just a UPS driver

I may have more of a problem with Republicans like you who have lost any humanatarian qualities, but I'm no Democrat, no Socialist. I want BALANCE, sensible balance, deep consideration for every issue other than "I'm conservative so I believe x."
This isn't good vs evil, it's stupid vs. stupid, and everybody loses. We are pitted against each other, and they have you hook, line and sinker.
Actually I think people on welfare should be sterilized.
Stupid people are out breeding smart people.
The Democrats want a country full of stupid people.

I have well over 30 years here.
A former manager told me to my face that I am considered to be a huge LIABILITY to UPS due to my years of service!
