The focus of Republican rebuttal today is not a denial of what Trump did but rather an attempt to portray him as a victim as well as to demonize the Democrats for voting for impeachment. The fact that Trump is trying to play king by not going before Congress along with his subordinates instead ignoring congressional subpoena's and ordering his subordinates not to speak is why congress is doing what it is doing today.

If he would have done so thereby demonstrating to the American people that nobody is above the law including himself he would have bagged himself a second term virtually uncontested and congress would likely have let him off easy.

If his acquittal emboldens him to continue behaving in his current fashion look for Romney to launch a bid to take the nomination from Trump with enough support from Republican moderates to gain enough delegates to make the convention anything but it's usual coronation .

the only reason democrats went after trump for impeachment is because he went after joe biden "the chosen one".

its just like what happened with nixon.

democrats utterly silent on other impeachable offenses. they are currently too narrow on what they are impeaching trump on. they couldve gone after him on day one. obama shouldve been impeached. republicans did :censored2: all. the percieved differences between the parties is mostly theatre. they are all part of the same gang.

GO ANSWER THE CHARGES! Same as what you and I would do if we found ourselves in a similar position. Not a single Republican today denied the fact that Trump did what he's accused of doing leaving them to do the only thing they could do....Attack the very institution they are part of and attack their fellow members of congress.

All the demwits had to do was go to the courts to get a ruling on the subpoenas. You fools didn't want the facts out there. Just a sham impeachment they knew was going nowhere.

It's simply Democrats using taxpayer money to attempt to influence the election in 2020.

TDS is a sham and you know it. Trump is being impeached for one reason: HE DID IT!! No Democrats were happy when Trump won, but I think most of us thought "Campaign Trump" would mature and actually act like a president. Well, that didn't happen, and it's been one big parade of lies and misbehavior since Day 1.

Let's see those taxes you promised, Donnie, and how about divesting your assets so you don't seem owned by the Saudis, Russians, and several other foreign governments?
