DIVORCE AGREEMENT

THIS IS SO INCREDIBLY WELL PUT AND I CAN HARDLY BELIEVE IT'S BY A YOUNG PERSON, A STUDENT!!! WHATEVER HE RUNS FOR, I'LL VOTE FOR HIM.

Dear American liberals, leftists, social progressives, socialists, Marxists and Obama supporters, et al: We have stuck together since the late 1950's for the sake of the kids, but the whole of this latest election process has made me realize that I want a divorce. I know we tolerated each other for many years for the sake of future generations, but sadly, this relationship has clearly run its course.

Our two ideological sides of America cannot and will not ever agree on what is right for us all, so let's just end it on friendly terms. We can smile and chalk it up to irreconcilable differences and go our own way.

Here is a our separation agreement:

--Our two groups can equitably divide up the country by landmass each taking a similar portion. That will be the difficult part, but I am sure our two sides can come to a friendly agreement. After that, it should be relatively easy! Our respective representatives can effortlessly divide other assets since both sides have such distinct and disparate tastes.

--We don't like redistributive taxes so you can keep them.

--You are welcome to the liberal judges and the ACLU.
--Since you hate guns and war, we'll take our firearms, the cops, the NRA and the military.

--We'll take the nasty, smelly oil industry and the coal mines, and you can go with wind, solar and biodiesel.

--You can keep Oprah, Michael Moore and Rosie O'Donnell. You are, however, responsible for finding a bio-diesel vehicle big enough to move all three of them.

--We'll keep capitalism, greedy corporations, pharmaceutical companies, Wal-Mart and Wall Street.

--You can have your beloved lifelong welfare dwellers, food stamps, homeless, homeboys, hippies, druggies and illegal aliens.

--We'll keep the hot Alaskan hockey moms, greedy CEO's and rednecks.

--We'll keep Bill O?Reilly, and Bibles and give you NBC and Hollywood .

--You can make nice with Iran and Palestine and we'll retain the right to invade and hammer places that threaten us.

--You can have the peaceniks and war protesters. When our allies or our way of life are under assault, we'll help provide them security.

--We'll keep our Judeo-Christian values.

--You are welcome to Islam, Scientology, Humanism, political correctness and Shirley McClain. You can also have the U.N. but we will no longer be paying the bill.

--We'll keep the SUV's, pickup trucks and oversized luxury cars. You can take every Volt and Leaf you can find.

--You can give everyone healthcare if you can find any practicing doctors.

--We'll continue to believe healthcare is a luxury and not a right.
--We'll keep "The Battle Hymn of the Republic" and "The National Anthem."

--I'm sure you'll be happy to substitute "Imagine", "I'd Like to Teach the World to Sing", "Kum Ba Ya" or "We Are the World".

--We'll practice trickle-down economics and you can continue to give trickle up poverty your best shot.

--Since it often so offends you, we'll keep our history, our name and our flag.

Would you agree to this? If so, please pass it along to other like-minded liberal and conservative patriots and if you do not agree, just hit delete. In the spirit of friendly parting, I'll bet you might think about which one of us will need whose help in 15 years.

Sincerely,

John J. Wall
Law Student and an American

P.S. Also, please take Ted Turner, Sean Penn, Martin & Charlie Sheen, Barbara Streisand, & ( Hanoi ) Jane Fonda with you.

P.S.S. And you won't have to press 1 for English when you call our country.

Let's Keep This Going. Maybe Some Of It Will Start Sinking In!!

Via Mediaite:

It’s been well-documented here at Mediaite that I disagree with MSNBC host (and lover of “paternalism“) Touré on a wide swath of issues, but my how the holidays can bring people together.

During a cute segment on what The Cycle hosts did for their respective Christmas celebrations, Touré shocked his colleagues (and plenty of viewers) by saying that he refuses to lie to his children about the existence of Santa Claus, instead allowing his kids to pick out their own presents and not think that some “stranger” magically places gifts under the tree overnight.

“My 5-year-old and 3-year-old, we didn’t talk about Santa at all,” he explained. “I went shopping with them and let Hendrix pick out a present for himself and his sister. He is good at picking out for his sister. T

he idea that the presents did not come from us never came up. It never occurred. We put out the presents before bedtime on Christmas Eve. There was no myth that some stranger is going to come in through the door.”

Co-host Krystal Ball had just explained her daughter’s cute Santa-related story, and so she proceeded to tease Touré and call his parenting decision “lame.”

“I’m sorry. We didn’t lie to our children,” he shot back. “I don’t think that that’s lame, but whatever. Judge not.”

New Hampshire Democrat: We Need To “Restrict Freedoms” Of Conservatives… And she’s dead serious (yes, that is a woman).

Via Warner Todd Huston:
[friend]or those unaware, a conservative project of sorts has been underway in New Hampshire since 2001. The idea is that Americans of conservative ideals are to move to New Hampshire, gather in communities, run for office, and work to drive the state toward libertarianism and conservatism. It is called the “Free State Project” and adherents are called “Free Staters.”

These Free Staters figure that the state’s motto, “Live Free or Die,” should really mean something and it is these citizens whose freedoms legislator Chase wants to oppress.

In her December 21 post, Chase wrote that, “Free Staters are the single biggest threat the state is facing today."

“In the opinion of this Democrat, Free Staters are the single biggest threat the state is facing today. There is, legally, nothing we can do to prevent them from moving here to take over the state, which is their openly stated goal. In this country you can move anywhere you choose and they have that same right.

What we can do is to make the environment here so unwelcoming that some will choose not to come, and some may actually leave. One way is to pass measures that will restrict the ‘freedoms’ that they think they will find here. Another is to shine the bright light of publicity on who they are and why they are coming

[SIZE=-1]In Germany they first came for the Communists,
and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Communist.

Then they came for the Jews, and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Jew.

Then they came for the trade unionists,
and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a trade unionist.

Then they came for the Catholics,
and I didn't speak up because I was a Protestant.

Then they came for me — and by that time no one was left to speak up.

O' Flaherty has taken an interesting approach and it will be interesting to see how well or how far it works. Glad to see the definition of anarchist reported correctly but kind of a contradiction for someone who claims belief in "no rulers" to then go out and get themselves elected to be one.

On one hand he does have a point in dismantling before alternate systems have emerged but at the same time as the last 4 years have begun to put pressures on states towards austerity measures, alternative systems have in fact begun to emerge. But some of these alternatives are now starting to feel a backlash from states who are either protecting turf or acting on behalf of cartelized and monopoly business interests upon whom the state has granted such privilege. One small example among a growing 100's.

In light of the example, Walmart as everyone knows has grown all across the country and much of that growth has come from making political friends in local communities. And sometimes with heavy hands too. In 2009', of Walmart's total sales of $258 bil, 51% of that came from it's grocery division so we are talking big money from food sales. As the idea of local/community/individual food production grows, an economic flashpoint will emerge and some have begun to question if such flashpoint has and gov't reaction are a result of pushback from state privileged fictions like a Walmart for example. It's a good question but a cloudly answer at best for the moment.

But if someone like an O'Flaherty could at the very least hold the Corporations hired muscle in this case being the state from interfering in the emergence of alternative systems, we'd have the paradigm shift needed to begin to actually dismantle the state or better yet it would fall apart as a result of non-use. Even now real freed market healthcare alternatives are waking up to challenge ObamaCare so look soon for the backlash from this.

If you don't like ObamaCare and you even have half a brain, if called to sit on a jury, vote not guilty regardless of what you think of the person just as a means to undermine the state itself. Same thing in regards to food production as well. When the state drags in someone who dares challenge the state in any area of Big Mother, for once THINK instead of acting like moronic, drooling, mindless automatons only capable of following orders from an illusion called hierarchy.

I find it funny how some here will parade their guns and even wax long about how they will stand up to the state when need be and yet when one can stand up to the state in a moment where no gun is needed, they fold like a so-called cheap liberal newspaper and tow the state party line. Thanks for the piece Sleeve.

"In the general election, O'Flaherty ran against a fellow Free Stater, housemate Dan Garthwaite, whom O'Flaherty called a statist who favors more government than O'Flaherty."

mac, i liked this one ;) you're right, it is a bit contradictory to fulfill an elected responsibility in the current system, while ideologically opposing the system. the above quote does confirm this.

That's a broadbrush, some are and some aren't. The town I'm in now is not at all spillover. Mostly false conservatives, some libertarian, a few spillover or converted liberals.
