Maybe it doesn't. That's why they're caught off guard every year. I owe someone an apology.
So you guys have anything in your contract that forces UPS to hire RPCDs or to maintain a certain number?
That's why we have the post office
Thank you. At least someone is getting their attention. There is no better way than what you just suggested.
Down about 15 drivers for months. Most guys pushing 70 every week. Finally added a driver this week. Unfortunately lost 3 to injury.
The plan in our building is to ask people to work their vacations.
Then they give you attitude when you say no.
If we had 22.4 they’d have to maintain but we don’t have 22.4
Can’t work past 9.5 hear!
I hear that...

Hang up. Turn around walk away
. Dude, they have been at it making a profit for over 100 years.
I was asked on Friday. My answer is always no. The feeder guys in my building will all work a week or 2 or 3 and many of the package guys will too. Union is on board with it. They are calling it 'covid 19 banking.'
Our local is not allowing any of that ish
They figured the game out a little late, went from 1 22.4 to 10 in a few months. If you hire 1 you need to hire the max limit pretty soon after to pillage the most amount of money away to shareholders.
They asked us a few weeks ago if anyone was interested in that. Said they are doing something special for us, allowing us to sell back our vacations weeks to work them. I just laughed and said no thanks, don't know of anyone who took them up on the offer. Sure some did though.
