I feel that’s a little dangerous to hire people that don’t have welding certs to do that but I guess that’s why they would train you.

Maybe your confused about exactly what a PE mechanic may actually have to weld.

Maybe a wheel on a cart, a hook to hang coats on....

Anything serious is done by an outside licensed company.

Can't even install an outlet. Needs to be done by an outside certified company.

Hell, can't even install new batteries in auto flush toilets.

I’ve only ever seen PE welding something on a Push put bay. I’ve never seen them really weld anything. The only time I ever call PE. Is for fod on auto rollers on the secondary, when a vertical belt craps out on the sorter belt, or when a diverter won’t come out of VFD. Never seen many actually fix anything

You will need some wire coat hangers, a roll of duct tape and a can of WD 40--- then you can fix anything
