Managers fired

The vast majority of damages are not known to the person loading them, however the same can't be said for misloads, which the majority of times are human error. For the most part, unless it's broken glass, or an irregular where damage is visible, damages are unknown to a loader or sorter.

I was talking about the damages discovered on car by the driver that get sheeted as "missed." If the driver can tell it's damaged when he picks it up, the loader should have been able to tell when he put it down. That's the thinking.

Unless it got damaged in the load, which does happen of course. Sometimes that's a loader issue, too, though.

Just because you've never seen management call each other out doesn't mean it doesn't happen. It just means it doesn't happen in front of you. Which is totally understandable. Drivers "take care of" problems between themselves privately, too, and are careful not to do it in front of management.
If that's true then why are there so many bad managers. In the past 10 years we've had 8 center managers.

6 of them have been fired for various reasons. In one case along with a division manager.

Drivers are under such scrutiny that incorrect methods or illegal behavior are nearly impossible to get away with.
Drivers are constantly held accountable for their previous days performance. These employees are subjected to progressive discipline so if their deficiencies don't improve, they are ultimately terminated.

However with management; incompetent skills, illegal behavior, harassment, intimidation and other actions prohibited by the Collective Bargaining Agreement continue largely unchecked.

It is only when a managers actions rise to a point where liability becomes joint and several, that they are finally fired.

Leaving a ton of damage in their wake.

I've watched managers come and go. The only one that left me scratching my head was a female who got fired for being a porn star on the side. But when I thought about it, I shoulda known.
