Sorry. No horse hair brushes at my house. Beaver is the way to go. It's softer. Shaving soap not cream. Safety razors are easier and quicker than a straight razor. Although at first I did take a chunk out of my nose. Bled all day.

Old time shaving is better because you have to do it HOT and WET!

About the styptic pencil........hubby went from years of elec. shaver to regular blades. He went to CVS and asked where he might find the styptic pencil (we couldn't find one). I wish you could've seen the look on the young kid's face......a blank stare too !!

I miss going to the barber and having him use a straight razor to clean the back of my neck and sideburns.

I get my hair cut at an old-school barber shop, complete with the striped pole outside, lots of hunting and car magazines, and a neck shave with hot soap and a straight razor. $12 a cut, no reservations, you want a haircut you come on in and sit and wait your turn.
