Does anyone know why the attendance bonus was raised from 75 to 110 a week? Does everyone get the bonus or only the part time employees? How long will it last?
Many places lost some dead weight when the MRA kicked in and company is kicking things back up because they thought folks would flock at the chance to get in with UPS and it’s benefits for PT…but no-one is taking the jobs given other PT jobs out there and what they offer right now. Our center lost some great and experienced PT loaders and sort so drivers have been offered hours and with that misloads are a plenty and we get out later. Not complaining as more 💵 for us and we stay out later but was a matter of time before company had to do something.

If the union negotiators were smart they would bargain for all employees to make what the wages plus MRA for the highest cost center in the country. When refused at the table by UPS take the issue off the table and focus solely on existing PT employee wages.

UPS already deems the union negotiated wage substandard to attract people: hence the need for a MRA. No sense in spending capital at the negotiating table on something that the company will be forced to correct anyways.

In fact, the union can claim it gave a huge concession to the company by keeping wages the same they are now which won't cost a single member a penny--as they won't be able to hire unless they pay more ---that is unless the market changes. But still worth the risk at the table.
