Now for the curve ball. 25 year vested Teamsters, 14 year steward, 6 year BA and 20 year organizer. Should I just leave this steward position to the youngsters or should I dive right it in mentor folks?

I left the Teamsters for a public sector school Union for more money and flexibility for my family. I'm currently an Organizer with a worker center during the day. Decided to become an active Teamster again at night. Life is good. It's all about choosing your own path.

I'm 45 years old, kids moved out. UPS work keeps me active. Don't need the job. Extra money for traveling or to fix up my Mustang.

Even if you weren't, I have no problem with a new hire with no exp wanting to be a steward, I know people who have been stewards for 30 years that are not worth a warm bucket of crap, a new hire wouldn't do any worse
