    And this by a multi-billion dollar organization that just now lost it's "nonprofit" status and started paying taxes.

    They voluntarily gave up their non-profit status for the NYC office complex.

    The NFL gave up its non-profit status so it would no longer be required by law to report the salaries of its high-level executives.

    But this still leaves the question, is the NFL and the State via the military using the soldiers to tug emotional heart strings in the same manner that Budweiser uses the Clydesdales or Coke uses the polar bears?

    What then is the real purpose of the pomp and circumstance of the National Anthem? To whom is our emotional allegiance actually being directed?
