No. That counts as an outside hire when filling the 6 for 1. But if nobody inside bids on any future jobs, the 6 for 1 is pretty much useless. The company will hire off the street to fill them if no inside bids.At our center we have a posting from a permanent package car driver. Required to hire from within. No inside bidders so the center manager is going to hire from the outside.
When that happens, does the rotation of insideutside hires get reset?
Whatever the reason, if center manager puts up 5 bids, and not enough inside guys are qualified for them, he can hire how many they were short from the street, and then it goes back to inside again, if there are any.
No, absolutely not. That is something he has to do if the positions are not filled from within.Would you prefer the positions be left unfilled?
What a bunch of wise employees. What an ambitious set of inside employees.
Not in contract?I've never understood why all full time bids were not offered to inside part timers first, even offering transfers from other states before ever hiring off the street.
You sound like managment for sure! Get ready to come back for peak because you need to get away from the old wife and make a few extra $ !!Not in contract?
UPS wants fresh blood with outside experience who understands the real world.
Maybe even get a couple of good management people that way.

Most of my workforce is college students working to get through school. I could see why they wouldn't sign a bid. What an ambitious set of inside employees.
Part time turnover is high enough that they pretty much are fresh blood. Don't think too many of these young bloods ever understand the real world though. Not in contract?

Why get a degree when UPS pays us over 100k to deliver cardboard with zero production standards, full benefits, pension and we get a company car? And if the brownies want, triple time for going over 95.What a bunch of wise employees.
Get your degree and don't become a whiney driver.

Harsh but they will have more options and like their jobOh, I don't know---perhaps they want to use their minds rather than their backs.
