No Need To Work, Welfare Pays Better!

You've stated before that it's simple, if you want employees to stay at a job you have to pay them enough for them to want to stay. So tell me what's the incentive to go back to a job where you're grossing $400-$500 a week when, depending on the state, you can get $600-$900 a week unemployment? It's primarily the low paid frontline workers who aren't returning and employers are desperate.
Unemployment benefits are temporary not permanent. So even someone who is getting more than they did working will eventually have to go back to work.

Definitely the Feds getting involved. Exactly what people were warning about from the beginning. You make unemployment more lucrative than working via subsidies, folk stay home.
According to the Center for Budget and Policy Priorities 44% of those Americans who receive some form of federal welfare benefits are low wage workers working full time. Cheap wage employers game the system with wages so low that the worker has to depend on federal welfare programs in order to survive. This is a major form of corporate welfare.

People who for long have had to work these feces (can't use the S word) jobs know that that same feces job (can't use the S word) or one just like it will be there when their benefits expire and they have to go back to them. Unsustainable wages, zero benefits if their lucky a week of vacation.... you know, just like Ground.... will be there for waiting for them when they go back out to work..... So how can you blame them?

Because you have to reach for the stars and be all that you can be!! This is the land of opportunity!
You see, despite the fact that not everybody is cut out to be a major contributor to society, republicans don’t believe that you deserve basic human rights, unless you make major contributions to society.
Cooking and preparing food part time (McDonald’s) is not enough contribution for these people.

Welfare! Oh no! The evil welfare!
Parents had me in high school
GUESS WHAT? We were on welfare for the first 5-6 years of my life, at least until grade school
While my parents worked their way through school
My mom, dad and I all made 6 figures last year
I’m the wrong guy to debate the merits of welfare with

But it should have never been set up for that long, and the shutdowns in a number of States shouldn't have ever been so extreme. People should have returned to work a long time ago. Giving extra money took away the incentive to return to work anytime soon when employers were, and are, begging for workers.

Yes, and we all know everyone on welfare moves on to a successful financial life. Thanks for reminding us.

I for one don't have a problem assisting low income workers. I do have a problem with the argument I've heard numerous times that they might as well stay home and be on welfare rather than work that crappy job.

And yet many low wage people also count on cheap goods they can afford at Wal-Mart as well as a cheap lunch at McDonald's. Higher wages don't mean much if everything is priced higher to pay for it. Take everything back from the Chinese, make everything here at American union wages, and let everyone pay the higher prices. Let the rich get richer a lot slower with less profit. And everyone will bitch about their crappy manufacturing job. But at least it'll be an American job.

The positive opportunity for those that will use it
Outweighs the negative
The discussion ends there as far as I’m concerned
You want to force people to have kids?!?! No abortion??? Prepare for the dreaded welfare!!!!

Yah, let's not go back to a time when people actually were virgins when they got married. :censored2: happens, there should be assistance to help in case it does. There shouldn't be tens of millions on welfare and not working when jobs go begging.

It gave people options especially people that have children and or underlying health conditions.
