The defined contribution thing was supposed to start this year right?
Last I heard all the contribution stuff they said we were supposed to be getting (talked about last year in early summer) got nixed on some sort of tax liability.

In the last quarter of last year i personally turned in between 13 and 15 sales leads, and only one was sold. I will email you the leads myself if you would like so you could see how bad the ball was dropped.

I am on a new route now, and I'm looking to help grow the business. However i will not turn in another lead! I have had my manager email the rep this last Monday, to contact me so we could walk in there together. This customer has a bad taste for ups from past experiences years ago and i do not need some schmuck from the 800 number screwing this up!

I want to be there so i can explain to the customer what i as their driver can offer them, the rep only needs to discuss the pricing. I will run the meeting and treat the customer right like i do everyday i make their delivery.

Still waiting to here from the rep, just imagine how much revenue we could have had this last week, if there was a sense of urgency?!

Red, good for you . Don't back off.

I'm pretty sure it started as planned?? I'm not aware that it was delayed. I have a few people in my group that are in that new plan, and have heard nothing.

This is from UPSers.com:

Effective January 1, 2008, a new retirement plan formula, called the Portable Account Formula (PAF), will be added to the UPS Retirement Plan for union-free new hires, rehires, and employees newly eligible for the plan on or after January 1, 2008.
UPS will continue to offer the current UPS Retirement Plan formula to eligible UPSers who, as of December 31, 2007, were and continue to be eligible for the UPS Retirement Plan. The existing retirement plan benefit is calculated based on a final average earnings (FAE) formula.

When was that on Upsers?
Sounds like we're talking about the same thing bc the PAF was to implemented at different times for different age and time of service. I dont remember the exacts but it said youd get 6% of your yearly wage for years 2-5 then it becomes vetted and then youd get 8 till your 15 year and then 10 after that (or something like that)
The only reason I know it was discontinued, delayed canceled, whatever I was talking to one of our pt hr reps last week and was like well atleast we have jobs and are getting our raises this year....and i was like and the increase in 401k contributions (if it wasnt canceled would have been 6%) and the defined contributions....she said it had been canceled do to some IRS legality issue.

I had not heard anything about it being cancelled... Maybe he is right. Do a search on UPSers on "retirement".

I found this from the original presentation... You have a pretty good memory:

The PAF crediting is based on points which is a combination of age and years of service.

Points (age + service) as of beginning of each year
Pay crediting rate
Less than 35
5.0% of pay
35 to 54
6.0% of pay
55 to 74
7.0% of pay
75 or more
8.0% of pay

705...just because you may have decades on me here, doesnt make you more knowledegable. I know I am only speaking for what I see in my district, but I catch more of your union brothers stealing time, wandering off, and trying to get over on myself and other managers. At the same time, all of those same employees complain about how horrible this company is, and how mistreated they are. Bottom line, I see more of the union taking advantage of the company than I see of management doing the same. Most of these people wouldnt have jobs at a non-union shop....

Lets just agree to disagree, otherwise we will do this until I retire....

I like you Back. You are like a more mild version of rocket man. I lol'ed at the part of your quote I put in bold. I do that in real life sometimes. Only when joking with people of course.

Brown, you might be right, there are bad seeds everywere! Today here a preist was convicted of molesting a boy and sentenced to 25 years in prison. A chicago cop was charged with kiddy porn on his computer and is in custody with a $100,000 bail, while a mayor of a south suburb was arrested for trying to hook up with a 14 year old girl on the internet.

I tend to when i post lean more to my union views. As a steward i see what a lot of other employees dont get to because of my role as a steward. I can and will disgaree from time to time with everyones opinion, but that does not mean your opinion is wrong!

How long before you retire? Will this be a long dragged out war between us? hahaa
