UPS is working to finalize its team sponsorship plans for 2009 and will make an announcement once those plans are complete.

UPS has supported NASCAR since 2000 when it became the Official Express Delivery Company of NASCAR. A year later, UPS became a team sponsor for Robert Yates Racing and driver Dale Jarrett, and launched its highly popular "Race the Truck" advertising campaign that made Dale’s name synonymous with UPS, and the “big brown truck" synonymous with NASCAR.
In a move that placed UPS among the first sponsors to race a Toyota Camry, UPS and Dale Jarrett teamed up with Michael Waltrip Racing (MWR) for the 2007 and 2008 seasons. When Dale decided to retire from racing, David Reutimann was chosen to take over as the pilot of the #44 UPS Toyota for the remainder of the 2008 season.
In a news conference today at Bristol Motor Speedway, MWR announced that Aaron’s will be the new sponsor for David Reutimann for the 2009 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series season. They will sponsor David in the #00 Toyota for half of the 2009 Cup series season and in 10 Nationwide series races.
At this time, UPS is working to finalize its team sponsorship plans for 2009 and will make an announcement once those plans are complete. We wish David Reutimann and the Michael Waltrip Racing Team well in their future endeavors.

I'm not so sure that UPS will sponsor a team at all next year. I'm thinking they will become the series sponsor of the Truck series which makes perfect sense in a marketing standpoint for UPS. They can use all of the truck series drivers in the commercials talking about racing the truck. The slot is open for UPS since Craftsman is leaving and there have been rumors in racing circles that UPS is in negotiations with NASCAR to do just that. We'll see but it's very telling that UPS have produced zero commercials with David Reutimann in regards to their current sponsorship. UPS just didn't gel at all with the whole MWR organization.

Nascar can be included in a sports 'column' on this site. Along with football (yeah), baseball, beach volleyball (GO! Dalhauser, you sexy thing), badmitten, etc., etc., etc..

Hey Over, what are the chances of adding a new forum for sports?
Then someone can get unnecessarily bent out of shape and give Scratch and hard time when he moves a misplaced thread.
