Nominations for Most Trump-Deranged Award

As the outbreak has grown, Trump has become attached to the daily count of coronavirus cases and how the United States compares to other nations, reiterating that he wants the U.S. numbers kept as low as possible. Health officials have found explicit ways to oblige him by highlighting the most optimistic outcomes in briefings, and their agencies have tamped down on promised transparency. The CDC has stopped detailing how many people in the country have been tested for the virus, and its online dashboard is running well behind the number of U.S. cases tracked by Johns Hopkins and even lags the European Union’s own estimate of U.S. cases.

Weird. Even when Trump isn’t the subject, you want to make him the subject. It’s like his existence deranged you thinking so that everything is always about him. Like his narcissism has somehow infected you. Like a viral Trumpfection of sorts.
Could it be a growing fear on the part of Trumpeters and Cluckers that Trump fails so miserably at dealing with the first major crisis his administration has had to deal with that it costs him reelection? I believe so. History has examples where unforeseen events emerging in the fourth year of a presidential administration that have cost presidents second terms. Examples are Carter, Bush 1, Taft, Johnson.

It can and has happened.
