The Republicans were perfectly happy for SCOTUS to begin it's term following Scalia's death with an 8 person bench. If it was perfectly ok then...what's wrong with it now?

you keep feeding us this :censored2: like you think someone has not heard this nonsense before .

republicans controled the senate and did not want to add an obama appointee to the bench
republicans presently control the senate and do want to add a Trump appointee to the bench

anything else you're confused about?

And if there is a Democrat president and a Democrat congress in January should they not in your opinion retaliate against the GOP in every way possible?

why because the republicans used the powers granted them by the constitution?

you illustrate the problem with politics.
Trump won the 2016 election and democrats tried to retaliate
Trump appoints judges to the bench and democrats want to retaliate.
democrats just like finding reasons to retaliate

In this case the right thing for democracy and the legitimacy of the court aligns with what is beneficial to Democratic priorities.
First point, this is no democracy.
Second point, Obama offered Merrick Garland as a replacement for Antonin Scalia, did you really expect a vote?
When an Associate Justice's last dying wish is President Trump does not fill her seat, she has made herself a political being, for the final time I might add.
Your side is priceless.
If you don't like it, burn the :censored2: down. That is democracy, look to the past three plus months, that is precisely how your kind deals with what triggers them.
