One of the biggest problems with the GM 350 diesel was it had too much static compression. Reduce it from 22 to1 down to about 17 and things will be much better.

Yes, it was. I think there are no performance parts for that thing. FYI they use the same water pump as the 292.

There were so many of those made, and used in so many applications, there have to be performance bits available.

Hell, our 1986 Cherokee and I believe my brother's 1989 Wrangler had the Iron Duke.
 
The rear end is an australian Borg Warner unit. Very strong. Many going mid 10s or faster with no problem. Also has the 200r4 vs the 700r4 which in my opinion is weaker

I've driven this road dozens of times. But never saw this one, until the utility company did some tree trimming. Last registered in 1973.
