That's simply not so. Most silver today is produced as a byproduct of mining other metals, particularly copper. Large stand alone silver deposits are almost non existent today. The process for finding and mining new silver deposits is much much more difficult than finding oil. And the current demand is eating up what is being produced now. There's simply not enough silver in the world to electrify all cars. Not even half of all cars. If the world intends to completely get rid of ICE cars then personal vehicle transportation will become the toys of the wealthy. You're much more likely to get the masses on electric bikes than in electric cars. Public transportation will have to greatly increase. It's not a matter of what anyone wants. It's a matter of an insurmountable lack of supply. Unless they come up with an alternative fuel source like hydrogen that meets clean air standards and is in plentiful supply then there's no viable alternative to ICE cars that will allow the masses to own cars.
i like ur logic but id like you to apply lack of supply to an economy which seems like it wants to keep on growing.

Billions of dollars and a lot of political will makethe insurmountable quite surmountable.

And full replacement of the ICE fleet would likely involve half the number of electrics, or even less. And we have a few decades to do it. Lots happens in that time frame.

And yet eu does it and chinaaa
China has lots of room and EU was already heavily invested in railways.
The USA is heavily invested in highways. and airlines.
Thanks to President Eisenhower , who saw how well Germany could move troops around quicker than the railways.

Do you know what the word maintenance means? Lol. Don't get all angry. If electric works for you, great. I'm not arguing that. Wouldn't work for me at this point.
I didn't say wipers and tires were the only maintenance.

I said they were pretty much all that's on the maintenance schedule. Everything else just needs to be inspected and replaced when bad.

Contrast that to an ICE car that needs a mechanic visit every few months so you don't kill it.

You can completely neglect an EV with no mechanic visits for years and everything is likely fine. That's the difference.

The word "schedule" matters. Learn it.

It's really simple. Either we keep ICE engines because we find alternatives are impractical or if the data truly supports we're killing the planet with carbon based pollutants then laws will force us to accept a scaled down lifestyle that involves mass transportation. I think a lot of people will accept electric bicycles in good weather, ride the bus in bad weather. Or walk.

Ok captain. The word opinion matters also. Maybe you should learn that...
