Tesla Model 3 and Y owners in Alaska and Canada say their car heaters have stopped working: Firmware update and corroded pumps are forcing them to drive in unheated cabins as temperatures outside plummet to -40F

  • Tesla vehicles in Alaska and western Canada are not getting heat in the cabin
  • The issue is plaguing Model Y and Model 3 vehicles and some owners first reported the problem last year
  • Elon Musk says the issue could be fixed with an over-the-air software update

Shocking that using a heat pump causes problems in cold weather isn't it?

Every critique in this thread is based on outdated information, and this one is as well.

Your statistic is exaggerated and old. That was from 2015 to 2019, and it was more like 20%.

New batteries currently being produced will outlast your grandkids need for a car. The body will rust out before the battery needs replacing.

I understand that not everyone can keep up.

But even crappy old antique EV technology (like in 2019) had an 80% retention rate of people staying with EVs. That's the inverse of your notion that 20% go back.

This is a one way street. Technology is only going one direction for average consumer cars, and it will be 100% of the market.
First of all , I just had to replace a battery it was a year old but that's not even the point ! I was not referring to the longevity of a battery which like any battery if you use something enough the battery will not last . Take a cell phone for instance you'll be lucky to get two to three years out of a cell phone battery if you use your cell phone constantly . I was referring to the batteries power output capabilities , which is limited and will always be limited . In other words we have expectations and are putting more demands on batteries to do more , but they are not able to produce therefore people will not be happy with the results . Which is the reason like I said 25% of the people the purchase electric vehicles end up returning them !!!

False, outdated information.

Yes, electric vehicles "only" retained 75% of buyers, back in the stone age when electric vehicles weren't yet better at everything. So, from 2016 to 2019, only 75% of people stayed with electrics after buying them.

Your statistic is an advertisement for EVs.
