So... Most package handlers are working to get their time in at UPS so they can one day make it as a driver? I’m hearing that it takes years for a package handler to work their way into the drivers seat.

But at the same time they hire people off the street to work as drivers. I was hired off the street and went straight to full time. However, I had experience as a delivery driver before coming to UPS.

I started driving 8 months after I started working here. It’s a minimum wage part time job. You aren’t entitled to a living wage when you work twenty hours a week. If you don’t like it move up or move on.

We could stand together for basic human decency. Not for diamonds and Lamborghinis for god's sakes. Just food and shelter being possible with second job until full time. Not a huge request.

Good luck with that. With a $1 or $2/hr increase in the starting wage in 36 years and Union brothers saying that is all you deserve. Only a matter of time before package delivery drivers will be in the same situation. Feeder drivers telling them "if you want to make the big bucks, drive the big trucks".

Exactly! Many people work 12+ hours a day at multiple jobs now to scrape by. What a convenient way for corporations to bypass labor laws!
