Even if minimum wage was intended to be a living wage, it does not do what it is intended. Unless the people who support it intend to drive up inflation and increase the cost of living for everyone. It is an overly simplistic, very bad solution to a complex issue.

There is proof higher minimum wages increase inflation.

And there is proof higher minimum wages do not increase inflation.

Economics is theory.

Not even remotely close to the discussion about minimum wage.
Handling packages is not a skill.

Being a Driver Service Provider takes skills.

Hubrats don't understand.

These millennials just want everything handed to them.
Riiiighhht...
Another guy who thinks his job is hard and everyone else's is easy. You're a real bad ass bro, I'm super impressed by your amazing skills.

I am super impressed by you a Keyboard Warrior.

Preload is easy.
Load packages into a package csr designed to hold them.
Yet they can't do it right 99% of the time
You're the one putting down other people not me. You really should go work at fed ex if you don't believe in a living wage or respect your coworkers.

I'm sure they'll realize your amazing delivery skills and pay you accordingly.

I know right. Workers shouldn't be able to organize and 'demand' their wage. They should just accept what the 'free market' is willing to pay and if they don't like it move on.....

You're a real piece of work.

That's what many free market true believers get wrong. In a free market labor should be able to band together to get the best deal they can. The idea that we all have to go it alone and take what we get only works to benefit the employers. Smart, organized labor demands competent management. Without it the only solution the idiots running things now can come up with is "slash labor costs". We're making their jobs easy by rolling over, we get screwed while they get bonuses. Everyone should have to work hard to earn their keep, we're just making it easy on them.

Economics is theory.

Businesses have to actively combat inflation to keep costs down for customers. When labor, or any other, costs go up, businesses may elect to let it hit the bottom line, but most don't. They will respond by cutting jobs, reducing higher pay for skilled positions, raising prices, then will look to increase efficiency in other ways. And usually in that order.

It's theoretical simply by virtue of the sheer number of factors involved. It's impossible to determine how much any one factor will affect inflation, or how long it will take for the effects to be felt. If you fend off inflation at the expense of increased unemployment, the buying power of the working class in general has still gone down. If workers have to work longer hours to get the same pay, it reduces their upward mobility because they have less time to be out looking for a better paying job, or take classes to increase their skill level.
